Happy Father's Day

It's late on Father's Day (now that I look at the clock, it's just after midnight), and I want to make sure I post about the men in my life, who I celebrate today.

First of all, my own Dad. He is amazing. He sacrificed for me and my siblings all through our childhood and continues to do everything he can so we can be happy. He loves my mom, and he's shown me what I should expect in a husband. He has learned to laugh with his kids, and I'm glad to see what a great man he is, even though it took me a while to see it. He takes on huge projects and helps me to see that anything can be accomplished (with the right tools, tools are everything). Thank you, Dad, I love you!

Second of all, my father-in-law, Brent (who has always been "Dad" to me since I started dating Will). He is watchful and loving of his children. He gives support and an amazing amount of charity to each of us. He raised his sons well (and his daughters too), and taught them all how to treat a woman with respect and honor, by example. He loves my mother-in-law, Linda ("Mom") and he's never afraid to help out with anything that needs to be done. When he comes and visits, he can't just sit still... he always asks what unfinished or needed project he can do (like fixing our entire fence in the backyard). Thank you, Dad Hale, I love you!

Most of all, I celebrate my sweet husband, Will. You are my rock. You have helped me to get through the hardest things I could never imagine would happen. You told me this morning that you didn't need to be celebrated today because you're not a dad, but you are, and you will be. You have fathered a child... we just have to wait to raise it (until then, Heavenly Father is filling in for you). Someday we will be parents... we just have to wait until Heavenly Father's time is right. I can't imagine how I am lucky enough to have you as a husband, and I thank my Heavenly Father for putting us in the right place at the right time, so I could get to know you for who you really are, and be ready for what Heavenly Father had in store for us. I look forward to the day you'll get to hold our children in your arms (I don't know when that will happen, but it is a dream I know will come true). Thank you for everything Will, I love you eternally.

And to all the other men and fathers in my life, I'm grateful for the examples you've set and the greatness you've shown. Happy Father's Day! I love you all!
