Update

I went to the doctor on Thursday (it's taken me a while to get to posting... someone introduced me to Facebook, and it's addictive) and here's the update I've got for everyone. My blood pressure is still high (not unexpected), but the baby is doing really well. They had me do an ultrasound before my doctor visit, and the tech measured the baby about a million ways and then averaged them to figure out how big she is. The estimate is 5 lbs 11 oz, and 11 days ahead of schedule! :) That makes us happy! The high BP... not so much, but the doctor is estimating delivery sometime in the next 3 weeks... preferably between 35 and 37 weeks. I'm 34 weeks now.

One fun thing about the visit was that we got to have some really good pictures of the baby. Funny story... the first time we saw her face in this ultrasound, I noticed her nose is looking a little bit more like her daddy's (read: not small). I joked, "Oh no! She got her daddy's nose!" Immediately after I said that, we saw Eva cover her face with her arm, and then she reared her head back to hit me as hard as she could in my womanly areas. It was pretty funny.

This is one of my favorite pictures of the baby's face... You can really start to see what she looks like. For those who have a hard time reading ultrasound pictures, I've rotated the picture, and drawn in lines for your viewing pleasure.

Now can you tell what you're looking at? Will thinks she looks like a monkey with all the lines drawn in. :)

One more funny thing about the ultrasound. The tech was looking at the circumference of the baby's head and she stopped for a minute and says, "Oh my gosh!" I was a little surprised and worried until she said, "Your baby has TONS of hair!" Apparently the baby is following in mommy's footsteps.

This picture of me was taken March 16, 1980. I was born Feb 26, 1980... I was 19 days old. No... that's not a wig.
I can't wait to see what our little monkey comes out looking like!

Oh my gosh! I can't believe you had that much hair! Liam didn't have that much hair until he was two! And even then it didn't look like that much because it was so blond.
We though Liam had Lane's nose from the ultrasounds we had gotten, but it's really more of a cross between Lane's and mine.

Oh, don't worry so much! I'm sure you're baby will look nothing like a monkey! (Unless of course she looks more like Will than you think! LOL) Congrats on the cutsy baby pics!

Becky, I just "got caught up" on your recent posts and pregnancy news. Having a high risk pregnancy is no fun...we get many around here. You're sure doing well keeping a positive attitude. I have 2 thoughts for you: 1. You won't have to worry about pushing anymore since it's unlikely you'll be doing any, and 2. It's so natural to worry, but thankfully we know that we don't have true control over anything in our lives - so you can give this to the Lord and let him take it from here. Good luck and enjoy the rest while you can. :)

that is the best hair ever!! I'm truly hoping the baby stays in there until 40 weeks! It's so hard when a preemie baby who to stay in the NICU. I know it's hard for you to stay pregnant but it's truly best for the baby!

Well, that is pretty good news. Hopefully you will last until 37 weeks, but at least Eva is ahead of schedule. You are still in our thoughts and prayers.

By the way, I love the full head of hair! :-D

And I'm going to find you on Facebook... ;)

PS... My friend made it! There's just so much to say so I'm breaking it down.

My little sister had a ton of hair like that and the nurses all called her Hairy. It stuck, she is now 45 and we STILL call her Hairy. Her highschool cheerleading uniform said Hairy, her wedding vows...do you Hairy take Mark....seriously! Be careful of nicknames!!!

You were an adorable baby. How's the med school thing going?

Hey Nancy!
Thanks for the picture with the lines, because I totally didn't get it until you added them. Kind of like the ink blot tests. :) Well, keep up the good work, and I'm sure we'll talk again soon.
Love ya,
Becky
