Parade of Snowmen

The last few days have been filled with lots of the white stuff. It hasn't been that bad, just chilly. I've noticed that people get creative when it comes to dealing with all the snow.

This is the street where we put our trash cans. Will had to carve out a spot in the 3 foot deep piles left by the snow plows to put our cans out. Those aren't the little black cans... those are the full sized cans.

This is some snow I saw on a neighbors outdoor furniture. I'm estimating we got over a foot of snow in the last 2 days.
I've never been a huge fan of playing in the snow. Maybe that comes from the bad experience I had sledding as a child. Or maybe it's because I prefer to feel my extremities. Either way, I'm not big on making snowmen, or having snowball fights, or whatever. But when we get as much snow as we've had lately, the snowmen creators come out in force. I think people realize after they start building their snowmen that it's too cold, or they're too wet, or their kids get tired or bored or whatever, and we end up with the parade of ugly snowmen.

This is the snowman that started it all. He's melted a little, and with the melting his spray painted (yellow) eyes and mouth are gone.

Unfinished snowmen are everywhere. After rolling up this much snow (I'll bet it's 3 feet tall), I'd be asking for some hot chocolate.

This is at the dorms at BYU. Those look like foxholes for the world's greatest snowball fight they're only wishing they could have. Too bad it's illegal to throw a snowball on campus.

This one is just down my street. Kinda sad looking. I can't even figure out where his face/neck/body is supposed to be.

Another shapeless snowman monstrosity.

I can't tell if they were trying to carve the snow or what, but it's unrecognizable.

Any ideas as to what this thing could be?

This snowman was in a horrible accident and didn't make it. I don't know what the accident was, but he's dead now.
I have found a few snowmen that aren't too bad.

Structurally this one is perfect, however, the nose and eyes fell out as soon as it warmed up a tiny bit.

This is a penguin... kinda hard to tell.
There is a vast difference in snowmen here... There are the ones that are horrible (see any of the previous pictures), and then there are the snowmen created by some crazed OCD person who has WAY too much time on their hands. The following is proof positive.

I think he's about 6 or 7 feet tall.

So good I had to take more pictures of him. I think these people thought if they recreated the Easter Island heads in the snow it would bring good weather... They're probably wrong, but a valiant effort nonetheless.
The next picture is not an addition to the parade of ugly snowmen. I realized I hadn't posted a picture recently of the growing belly, so here it is now.

28 weeks, only 3 months left! :)

I don't miss the snow at all! I like to drive on non-snowy streets. When looking at the snowmen pictures I thought of the Easter Island head as well when I saw that one. (Yes, they must have some serious snow gear to be able to finish something like that without getting hypothermia/frostbite.) Some interesting snowmen out there.

CRAZY

You look marvelous

Yes it really is illegal to throw a snowball on BYU, as well as the rest of Provo. Here's an odd article with many other strange laws here.

Those of us who thankfully don't live in the snow really really love your sharing the snowman pics with us. It's nice to experience all the way over here!

Cool pictures, I too was thinking the Easter island head things...
Did Wil get into Med school? Did I miss that post?

If i lived in Provo I would so be in jail or have racked up billions of $$$$ in snowball fines. The tempation is just too great.

Oh MY GOSH... Holy snow head. Ummm, and I had to do a double take, because I'm sorry to say I thought your prego pic was a repeat! It looks almost exactly the same as the one you took earlier; same shirt, same bg, etc. etc... except I'm sure your belly is aggrandised :) And you match your blog! He he he he he...
